League News
I learned in the asphalt leagues that you only need about 12 to 18 cars to have a good league race. Last week we tried with 24 cars and I think I was right the first time. I had originally limited the a-main to 18 or 20 cars. This week we’ll go back to the 20 car limit. If we have more than 25 cars entered, the remaining cars will transfer to the b-main. If you enter the event and you don’t make the A, please go to the B and help fill out the field. The race format is now at the top of the league schedule page.
Speaking of asphalt leagues, there are no more left under the OSR umbrella. Participation sunk to new lows last week, so we will try some different cars on dirt. I enjoyed short track asphalt racing, but I think dirt racing is more interesting, more challenging, and has a lot more to offer. If you love racing on dirt, feel free to join the OSR Street Stock and Limited Late Model leagues that run on Wednesday nights starting this week.
Voice Activity has been disabled in the league’s Discord server. You can set up push to talk in Discord settings under Voice. More information on Discord is available here.
Congratulations to Last Week’s Feature Winners
- Late Models – Bryan Hacker
- 360 Sprint Cars – Bruce Jones2
- 410 Sprint Cars – Brock Hopkins
- Pro Late Models – Dan Collinsworth
- Super Late Models – Zak Rounds
The racing was very good in every class. For those who ran one of the Sprint races and also the Pro Late Model race, think about 10 cars versus 24 cars.
Coming Up
Wednesday we kick off the OSR Dirt Street Stocks with a 25 lap night race at Volusia Speedway. That starts at 7:30.
The OSR Limited Late Models also make their debut at Volusia Speedway. We’ll run 35 laps in a late afternoon setting. That session gets started at 9:00.
Coming up Friday night, get ready for another big race in the 360 Sprint Cars at Volusia Speedway. This will be a 35 lap afternoon race. This has grown to be the most fun series in the OSR line-up so far with close, clean racing each and every week. The 360 session starts at 7:30 pm. The broadcast that was scheduled for this race has been canceled by the broadcaster.
After the 360s, the 410 Sprint Cars pound the clay at Volusia Speedway in the afternoon. These cars are a handful at Volusia, so practice would be a good idea. The session starts at 9:00 pm.
Moving on to Sunday night, we’re running the Pro Late Models at 7:30 and the Super Late Models at 9:00 pm. Volusia speedway is the venue. These are both night races.
All times are US eastern.
Here are the setups for each race.

Why was the broadcast cancelled Jeff?
Jeff Kendrick says
He told me his internet is down or there is something wrong with it and it wouldn’t be fixed until Saturday, but he was able to broadcast Slinging Dirt’s race tonight. Maybe he used somebody else’s internet.
