Dirt continues to be the word of the day on iRacing. There are many veteran iRacers giving dirt a try right alongside some new blood. I haven’t tried any official races but I have heard good things for the most part. There is usually something ugly in most races, but the dirt races seem to be surprisingly clean. It’s refreshing to see some of the enthusiasm that is surrounding dirt on iRacing.
In OSR league news, we found ourselves a little bit short on cars this week in the Street Stock and Late Model series. I think this is due in part to the new dirt release. I had planned to be very involved with dirt racing since the announcement last year. Now dirt racing is here, so I decided to let go of the Pro Street Stock series after Sunday’s low car count. Street Stocks were the first series we ran in the league when it started four years ago, and we have continued to run them every season since. Something on the asphalt side had to go, and the Street Stock series was the first to be discontinued.
In the Modified and Late Model series we will run this Friday and Sunday as usual then take a week off. Both series will return on Wednesday, April 19 when they will run at The Bullring. You can see the full schedule here. You can also see the dirt schedules on that page.
The dirt leagues are going to be running on Fridays and Sundays later this month. Some of the dirt series may end up on a different night by next season, but they will all be on either Friday or Sunday. By next season, the two most popular series will be on Sundays and the other two will be running on Fridays.
Last Week’s Race Winners
