This setup is for the Street Stock at USA International Speedway Week 13 afternoon racing. A couple of things to note:
- If the setup feels loose on entry, raise the brake bias. I run a modified brake pedal system so your setting might need to be different from mine.
- I use a fairly tall gear for this car/track with a 4.30. That’s because I found the 4.44 gear to be consistently one tenth slower. I’ll take that tenth over the “cool sounding high revving engine” any time. The iRacing setup uses a 4.63 which, frankly, is a little ridiculous. Typically you want to top out around 6200-6300 rpm in this car.
- You can’t drive this setup like you do the iRacing setup. The setup is pretty fast and pretty stable but you have to finesse it a little bit through the turns and take care of the tires a little. USA International Speedway has some very old, abrasive asphalt and it tends to scrub the tires away pretty quickly. If you have a heavy right foot you should probably stick with the iRacing default setup and change the gear ratio.
- Because of the abrasiveness of this track, I run pretty low tire pressures to reduce the falloff in lap times.
