Wise Words From Shadow32

If you seek a broad array of iRacing setups at prices that actually make sense, you will find
them in our Discord. We keep the selection wide and the costs low, just as they ought to be

Shadow 32 Dirt Track Racing 2
Shadow 32

Today I was reading some old forum posts and I came across a post from the founder of Extreme Velocity Racing, Shadow32. What you are about to read below is why Shadow and EVR were so very well respected in the Dirt Track Racing community. Here are Shadow’s words:

It’s definitely time to correct our driving behavior before the league admins are forced to throw the switch on the damage option.

Like the MARS officials explained last night. If you get into someone let them regroup at least. If you drive through someone you are going to be penalized.

What’s sad is that such a rule even has to be enforced. With damage on this would never be an issue. You wreck yourself and your fellow competitor with some bone-headed moves enough… you won’t be racing in leagues anymore period.

Yeah lag is worse in DTR2… I think perhaps mostly because the speeds are higher therefore when a car does lag out you are on top of them quicker. At least in DTRSC and DTR1 a person had time to react if someone started lagging near you. That still doesn’t excuse driving through someone to get to the front. If you have to drive that way you really aren’t winning anything but trophies. Respect is earned in how you drive others, not in how many checkers you get.

There really is no feeling like runnin with a bunch of racers you know and trust, door-handle to door-handle and occasionally getting that win. Those wins are tons sweeter than the ones where you must drive over and through people.

Last evening we ran the multi-grooved Grandview. I was on the low side and Domn8r was on the high side. We ran 15-16 laps that way – each lap one or the other might be leading. We didn’t take each other out! That was one of the best races I’ve had in a long time and guess what? I finished 4th! Know something else? I know that I can trust what Domn8r is going to do the next time we race each other.8-)

There is plenty to think about for sure. It’s up to the professionals to start the trend and buck this current habit of rough driving! Everyone makes mistakes. The person who can admit it is the one I want to race beside the next chance I get.

Enough rambling I suppose… please insert your thoughts here. ;D
