In September of 2022, Dale Earnhardt Jr. posted a tweet showcasing Richard Petty’s #43 Petty Enterprises entry adorned with the STP backing. This post sparked speculation about the potential scanning of the car for integration into iRacing. A day later, an image emerged featuring what seemed to be an iRacing team member employing scanning equipment on the vehicle.
