The only thing I see of interest to oval racers in this update is the introduction of Lucas Oil Speedway, and if you don’t race on dirt ovals, even this news won’t be of interest to you.
Lucas Oil Speedway is a three-eighths mile clay oval located in Wheatland, Missouri. The track was built on farmland and first opened in 2001 as Wheatland Raceway. Lucas Oil purchased the track in 2004, renovating the entire facility, making it one of the premier motorsports facilities in the country.
Lucas Oil Speedway, also known as The Diamond of Dirt Tracks, currently hosts a weekly racing program as well as national events throughout the season. Some of the top names in dirt racing have taken the checkered flag at Wheatland.
