2026 High Limit Racing Friday Results at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

March 14, 2026 by Jeff Kendrick Leave a Comment

The 2026 Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing season commenced on March 12 and continues straight through March 14 at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, thereby launching the series’ third full-time national campaign in proper fashion. Friday’s 25-lap feature served as the second of three nights in the SugerBee Blackjack Dash at that venerable Las Vegas dirt oval, kicking off the 62-race schedule with every contest streamed live on FloRacing for those sensible enough to stay out of the cold. Here are the results from Friday, presented without unnecessary embroidery.

A night after falling short in one of those maddening photo finishes that leave grown men questioning their choice of profession, Corey Day left absolutely no doubt on Friday at the Las Vegas Dirt Track. He charged past early leader Aaron Reutzel on lap nine and then led the final 16 laps as if the car were on rails, earning the $10,000 victory the old-fashioned way—by being faster than everybody else. Day crossed the line 3.147 seconds ahead of Reutzel, while James McFadden, who started in sixth, drove a sensible and effective race to claim third place.

Unlike Thursday’s blessedly caution-free affair, Friday’s feature was interrupted by three yellow flags, each one arriving with the timing of an unwelcome in-law at dinner. The first came on lap 12 when Hunter Schuerenberg slowed while running 18th; the second dropped on lap 13 for Chase Randall in 17th; and the third waved on lap 17 after Justin Sanders crashed while mired back in 21st. These things happen when the dirt gets slick and the nerves get thin.

Kyle Larson, who had won the night before, lined up second but watched his evening unravel faster than a cheap suit in a rainstorm. He lost control entering turn three on the opening lap, spun like a top, and dropped 16 spots under the blend rule. He clawed his way back through the field with the grit one expects from a champion, yet still could manage only a ninth-place finish. Sometimes the track simply refuses to cooperate, and that is the way it has always been.
