OSR iRacing Setup Focus and Changes

It’s been a while since I updated the iRacing setup news so I figured I would take a couple of minutes to let everyone know the setup focus for now, and about a small change I’m making in the setup listings.

I apologize for the lack of posts here and any delays you may experience with the setup postings. I once tried to get them up by Monday mornings, but that has become almost impossible of late due to things that are going on in my private life. OSR will continue to provide setups and I will strive to keep posting them as early as I possibly can.

First of all I’ll explain the changes coming in the setup listings. Going forward, I will be changing some code around so that the setups will be listed in descending order instead of ascending order. Currently, the setups are sorted by name ascending, so that makes the OLD setups list first then new setups are at the end of the listing. This change will reverse the order so that NEW setups will be listed at the top. As you go down the list, the setups will get older. I know that most members will appreciate this, but keep in mind that there is sometimes gold in those older setups. You can grab a few setups and test and compare them. You might find a great setup and it’s also good practice. This will be a fairly slow process as my time is very limited for now.

Now concerning the focus for OSR provided iRacing setups. We will be providing setups for the following cars and they will be posted roughly in this order.

  1. NASCAR iRacing B Car
  2. Asphalt Legends Car
  3. NASCAR iRacing A Cup Car
  4. 410 Sprint Car
  5. NASCAR iRacing C Truck
  6. Big Block Modified Car
  7. Pro Late Model Car
  8. Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Late Model Car
  9. 360 Sprint Car
  10. Dirt Super Late Model Car

The setups provided and the order in which they are provided is subject to change.

OSR iRacing Setup Focus for 2019 Season 4

iRacing oval setups are the forte of OSRacing.net. We now provide setups for the vast majority of these types of cars. Here’s a quick update on the OSR setup focus for 2019 Season 4. Time is limited this season but I will do my best to provide iRacing setups for these cars in this order.

  • Asphalt Legends Cars
  • Winged 360 Sprint Cars
  • Winged 410 Sprint Cars
  • Pro Late Models
  • Dirt Super Late Models
  • SK Modified Cars

If I can find the time, I will also try to provide setups for the UMP Modified Cars.

Additionally, other iRacing will likely contribute setups for the following cars:

  • Asphalt Legends Cars
  • SK Modified Cars
  • NASCAR iRacing Class A, B, and C Cars
  • Tour Modified Cars
  • Asphalt Super Late Model Cars
  • Asphalt Late Models (Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS)

That covers most of the oval racing cars on iRacing. There are some less popular series that aren’t covered. As much as I’d love to cover everything running ovals, it just isn’t worth the time to prepare setups for some of those series. If anyone would like to contribute setups for those cars I will share them on the website. You can contribute setups on this page or by DM in Discord.

iRacing Setup Focus for 2019 Season 3

NOTE: New iRacing setups are added for the current official racing week beginning Monday mornings at 1:00 am eastern time. I continue to add setups later on Monday and a few trickle in throughout the week. If you’re looking for any iRacing setup for official racing during the upcoming week, there is no point in looking before 1:00 am eastern on Monday morning.

For 2019 Season 3, Old School Racing Motorsports will focus on setup building for the following classes in this order (with possible occasional variations):

  1. 360 Sprint Cars
  2. 410 Sprint Cars
  3. Asphalt Late Model Stock Cars
  4. Dirt Super Late Models
  5. Asphalt Legends Cars

We’re also going to focus on producing some setups for both the Asphalt and Dirt Street Stock cars. In spite of the fact that the official series are all fixed setup, we have found that setups for these cars are popular. My theory is that people use the setups in hosted races. For the Asphalt Street Stock, setups for the Charlotte Oval are at the top of the list as this is a very popular track in hosted iRacing.

Beyond that, we will work with the cars listed below IF we get time.

  1. UMP Modifieds
  2. Pro Late Models
  3. SK Modifieds

That’s a lot of cars to build for and we may not build setups for all of the cars every week. All we can do is start at the top and work down until we finish or run out of time. If we get a request for a specific car we may move it up in priority.

That’s just what we are going to attempt to build. We will also continue to provide iRacing setups for virtually all oval racing disciplines available on iRacing including the big oval series. We receive these setups from several different sources.

No Asphalt Street Stocks; iRacing Setup Focus for 2019 Season 2

As some of you have noticed, the iRacing Asphalt Street Stock setups are no longer working. If you try to download a setup file from any of the Asphalt Street Stock pages, you will get an empty file. This happens when the file you are downloading is still indexed in the download management system but actually doesn’t exist. The reason I removed those setups is because iRacing has made significant changes to the Asphalt Street Stock car and the setups no longer work. Outside of Week 13 Street Stock Challenge setups, I have no plans to build any more Asphalt Street Stock setups. All of the Street Stock classes on iRacing run fixed setups so there is no reason for me to invest the time required to make new ones. I have not had time to remove the many Street Stock setup pages, but they will be coming down slowly.

For 2019 Season 2, Old School Racing Motorsports will focus on setup building for the following classes in this order:

  1. 360 Sprint Cars
  2. 410 Sprint Cars
  3. Asphalt Late Models
  4. Dirt Super Late Models
  5. Asphalt Super Late Models
  6. UMP Modifieds
  7. Pro Late Models
  8. Asphalt Legends
  9. SK Modifieds
