Ready to Wreck? Week 13 Returns

iRacing Week 13 WreckIt’s Week 13 once again in the iRacing world. Who said 13 was an unlucky number? I don’t know about luck, but Week 13 can be pretty rough unless you can qualify well and run up front in every race. Even then it can sometimes bite you in the form of lapped cars.

Some will try to advance during Week 13. I wish them luck.

As usual, there will be Street Stock racing during Week 13. The Street Stocks will compete in 30 lap races at the Charlotte Legends Oval, Lanier National Speedway, Oxford Plains Speedway, South Boston Speedway, and Thompson International Speedway. Those are very short races, especially on the three tiny tracks on the schedule. If you have trouble early in the race you’re just SOL. Ratings are in effect for the Week 13 Street Stocks.

That’s the only thing iRacing has to offer for short oval racers during Week 13. If you’re looking for something to do, Old School Racing Motorsports will be hosting some races throughout the week.

Kendrick Wins Marathon Street Stock at USA International

OSR Street Stock Feature Winner October 13, 2014Jeff Kendrick held on to win an OSR sanctioned Street Stock race at USA International Speedway that turned out to be a near-enduro. The race was meant to be set for 60 laps, but due to an error it turned out to be a 90 lapper.

Kendrick led in the early laps of the race, but pitted when the caution came out around lap 20 to add a couple of gallons of fuel and take on four tires. Stephen Raughton elected to stay out of the pits and took over the lead of the race at that point. Raughton led for 42 laps, then Kendrick finally caught him as his (Raughton’s) tires began to wear. Kendrick went on to lead the rest of the way and take the win in a race that had few cautions and a lot of green flag laps.

Here is the official finishing order.

  1. Jeff Kendrick
  2. Stephen Raughton
  3. Joshua Roberts
  4. Eric Lambert
  5. Steven Hise
  6. Sylvain Milot
  7. Craig Hawkins
  8. Gavin Dubois
  9. Thomas Posey
  10. Hunter Phipps
  11. William Newcomb
  12. Anthony Mince

Old School Racing Motorsports thanks all of the participants of this Street Stock race for coming and racing clean and green for so many laps.
