iRacing 2020 Season 2 Build Highlights

March 2, 2020 by Jeff Kendrick 2 Comments

First of all, the only thing I see of any significance in the iRacing 2020 Season 2 build is the return of DNC cautions. Let’s hope they stick around this time. Here are some more things that have been added, but this is pretty much a nothing build.

iRacing Beta User Interface – Custom Grid Builder

  • This feature is available for League Sessions using the ‘Practice + Race’ event type.
  • If the requirements are met, a button appears to open the grid builder.
  • You can choose a league roster or a past league session from which to pull participants to the grid.

In essence, this sounds pretty much like the custom grid builder that has been available in the good interface for years. It’s a bit buggy but it works most of the time.

iRacing Simulator – Race Control

iRacing has enabled DNC Caution Laps again. This is used primarily on short ovals. Cautions laps won’t be counted with this on. iRacing fixed a bug that was causing some lap timing problems. DNC Cautions will be enabled in official dirt races in which cautions are enabled (Class C and up).

Race Cars

All of the NASCAR Stock Cars received aero updates for stability as well as tire updates to adjust tire falloff on speedways and intermediate tracks.

Race Tracks

Texas Motor Speedway has been rescanned and rebuilt.

You’re right this is a nothing update. Nothing for dirt except for the caution laps not counted which was a failure twice before. Maybe they got it right this time.

    How about:
    Big Block Modifieds
Work on surfaces and tires that would lead to a late model that is drive-able by the general membership.

NASCAR and road get all the attention and dirt gets treated like a red headed bastard son.

I agree…. The Big Block Modifieds are LONG over due. Also, the Weedsport track that was scanned like 2 years ago. Where is it?
