Today I want to thank all of the millions of veterans across this great land.
Thank you for sacrificing so many things; the long periods of time you spend away from your families and loved ones. Nobody can really understand how hard it is to leave your family, your small children, and put yourself out there on the line.
Thank you for going to strange lands and fighting so that we can be safe and free in this great country. You put everything on the line so that any American can stand on his rooftop and shout his grievances against the government without any fear of reprisal. Any American can protest government wrongdoing, whether it’s real or perceived. Try that in North Korea.
Thanks to your families who live every day knowing that the worst could happen and praying that it doesn’t. They also make big sacrifices.
Thanks for volunteering to make all of these sacrifices. There has been no military draft in this land for many years. You all chose to serve your country and all of us are grateful beyond words. America salutes you.
Thank you for the kind words for vets. We really appreciate it.
