Every season, iRacing gives its members an opportunity to advance to the next license level. They call it Week 13. It’s some sort of black hole between seasons. True to its number, it is bad luck for most racers who choose to participate in it.
For asphalt oval racers, there’s the Street Stock Challenge series making its rounds to several tracks. It’s become a tradition for Old School Racing Motorsports to provide good setups for these tracks. This season, I’m going to put them all right here (scroll down) so you can grab them when you’re ready.
Everybody has raced a Street Stock on the big oval at Charlotte, but now you get to try your hand on the tiny, flat Legends oval. They say it’s a quarter mile but it seems shorter. I can’t find any fun on the track, but that’s just my opinion. I could be wrong. You’ll also get to race some of the great old tracks like Oxford Plains, Lanier, Thompson, South Boston, and USA International.
If you want to try official races, you can choose from the list below. Beware, safety ratings and iRatings are in effect for these official series.
- Asphalt Street Stocks – scroll down for iRacing Street Stock setups
- Dirt Street Stocks
- NASCAR Cup Cars at Michigan International Speedway, featuring the brand new Camaro ZL1
- NASCAR iRacing Monster Energy Cup Series (Open and Fixed)
- NASCAR iRacing XFINITY Series
- NASCAR iRacing Camping World Truck Series
On the unofficial side, you can run these:
- Midgets at Kokomo Speedway (New Dirt Track)
- Sling Mud for Fun Dirt Super Late Models
- Sling Mud for Fun 410 Sprint Cars
- Carburetor Cup
- Pickup Cup
My advice for Week 13:
- Run league races.
- Run the unofficial series.
- Run hosted races.
- Get ready for next season.
In other words, steer clear of anything that involves safety rating and iRating. Whatever you decide to do, have fun doing it!

This setup is for the Street Stock at USA International Speedway Week 13 afternoon racing. A couple of things to note: If the setup feels loose on entry, raise the brake bias. I run a modified brake pedal system so your setting might need to be different from mine. I use a fairly tall gear for this car/track with a 4.30. That's because I found the 4.44 gear to be consistently one tenth slower. I'll take that tenth over the "cool sounding high revving engine" any time. The iRacing setup uses a 4.63 which, frankly, is a little ridiculous. Typically you want to top out around 6200-6300 in this car.…
